Microsoft Ends Support For The 1st Version Of Windows 11
Microsoft has announced the end of support for Windows 11 version 21H2, the first iteration of the operating system. This means that users of this version will no longer receive updates that fix vulnerabilities and new features.
End of support announced for Windows 11 Home 21H2, Windows 11 Pro 21H2, Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 21H2 and Windows 11 Pro Education 21H2. Windows 11 Enterprise 21H2, Education 21H2, IoT Enterprise 21H2 and Enterprise Multisession 21H2 editions will continue to receive updates for another year, until October 10, 2024.
Windows 11 21H2 users don’t need to do anything themselves to continue receiving OS updates. Windows Update will automatically update your system to a more recent version, allowing you to continue to use your computer safely and receive future security updates and new features. Microsoft reminds that Window 11 users can also customize their update schedule. The operating system will be updated to the latest version when the PC is not busy performing other tasks.
The Windows 11 21H2 version was one of the most popular among users, as it introduced a number of innovations, such as a redesign of the interface compared to Windows 10, the ability to run Android applications, screen widgets and the Snap Layouts feature.
It is important to note that the end of support for Windows 11 version 21H2 will not affect users of Windows 10 version 22H2. The latter will continue to receive support for another two years.
