Adobe Offers An Icon To Mark AI Content
As “unverified” and sometimes low-quality AI-generated content continues to flood the Internet, labeling this content is a top priority. To achieve this goal, Adobe and other companies have introduced a new symbol for labeling images created using artificial intelligence.
Content Credentials was developed by Adobe with input from a number of partners, including the BBC, Microsoft, Nikon and Truepic. Information about the origin of an image, video or PDF file is added to its metadata by a digital camera or graphics editor and recorded in a metadata file that indicates whether artificial intelligence algorithms were used in its creation or editing. The relevant information is added automatically in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, and support will soon appear in Bing Image Creator – Microsoft currently uses its own tagging technology, but plans to switch to Content Credentials.
At the same time, C2PA released a Verify feature that allows users to upload an image tagged with Content Credential and view its entire edit history back to when it was assigned a badge.
