Cadillac Has Unveiled The Celestiq – Its First All-Electric Luxury Car
Cadillac is testing the limits of its brand appeal and pricing with the 2024 Celestiq, a large bespoke electric vehicle that will start at $300,000.
The car, unveiled Monday night, launches the GM brand into the ultra-luxury segment over the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce. This is something that no American brand has done in our time.
So far, most of the characteristics are silent, but the brand has revealed some interesting details: Celestiq will be assembled by hand, have all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and next-generation driver assistance system from GM Ultra Cruise. It will also feature GM Ultium powertrain technology.
The interior will be configured separately for drivers and passengers. The roof will feature “four-quadrant particulate smart glass” – each person in the car will be able to set their own level of roof transparency.
Inside the cabin there will be several screens, including a 55″ transparent LED dashboard display. Cadillac also claims an “electronic digital blinds” feature that will allow the front passenger to watch video without distracting the driver. There are also screens behind each of the front head restraints and a console with a touch screen between the seats in each row.
The Celestiq will go on sale in 2024 as a 2025 model, according to Motor Authority.
