5.5G Communications Launched In China
China is accelerating telecom innovation with the commercial deployment of its 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network, revealing plans to build the world’s largest commercial 5G-A network. It is part of the country’s latest efforts to develop internet infrastructure and promote innovation.
Oppo CEO Pete Lau posted on his page on the Weibo social network a photo of the Oppo Find X7 Ultra smartphone, in the status bar of which the 5GA network icon is visible.
There is a post on the same social network that hints that the base model Oppo Find X7 will also receive 5.5G support. This is quite curious since both devices use different processors. The Ultra model is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm, while the base version received Dimensity 9300 from MediaTek.
The 5G-Advanced network promises a threefold increase in connection speed: downloading up to 10 Gbit/s and uploading 1 Gbit/s. China Mobile has already set up demonstration sites across the country so that Find X7 owners can try out the new data transfer standard.
China plans to accelerate the construction and development of new information technologies such as 5G, gigabit optical networks and computing power,” an industry and information technology official said on Tuesday.
