WhatsApp To Allow Sending And Receiving Messages From Telegram And Viber
The team of the popular WhatsApp messenger is actively working on a new feature that will ensure compatibility with third-party messaging platforms. This requirement will become mandatory in the European Union from March 2024.
According to the source, WhatsApp is already preparing to introduce cross-platform functionality in the messenger. The latest beta version of the Android app has a section called “Third-Party Chats” – it cannot be tested at this time. However, it is absolutely clear: WhatsApp will soon begin to accept messages not only within the service, but also from other instant messengers – from Viber, iMessage and Telegram.
The new law, in fact, will not allow a user to be forced to install a dozen instant messengers in order to stay in touch with all his friends and acquaintances. Instead of a monopoly on messaging services, instant messengers will be forced to lure users with a user-friendly interface, stability and useful functions.
