The First Humanoid Robot Xiaomi Is Showed In Beijing
At a presentation in China, Xiaomi today, August 11, showed the first CyberOne branded humanoid robot. This humanoid robot can walk independently on two legs and communicate with people. Its maximum speed is about 3.6 km/h.
The robot, nicknamed “Metal Bro”, is 177 cm tall and weighs 52 kg. At the presentation, the robot walked up to the stage and handed the company’s CEO Lei Jun a flower, then took a selfie with him and left the stage without any problems.
The CyberOne mechanism is equipped with many sensors that allow the robot to navigate in space, recognize people and talk to them on various topics. The humanoid is also able to walk independently on two legs, carry small objects and understand the mood of a person thanks to the ability to recognize 45 basic emotions.
Representatives of Xiaomi noted that they plan to continue to create robots, actively developing this direction. The company does not plan to bring CyberOne to the market – the device will be used as a research platform.
For now each CyberOne will cost somewhere in the range of 600,000 to 700,000 yuan (roughly $89,100 to $104,000), so it will be some time before the company considers it suitable for mass production.
