Human-Like Robots 1X Eve Showed Full Autonomy In Everyday Tasks

The Norwegian company 1X boasted of its achievements in the field of robotics. She invented the talented Eve androids, which are already working in warehouses, writes New Atlas. They pack packages and perform other tasks.

As part of the first round of financing with a budget of $25 million, 1X was supported by OpenAI; it was followed by a second round of financing with a budget of $100 million. Humanoid robots 1X look quite modest in comparison with analogues from Tesla, Figure, Sanctuary and Agility: the Eve model has neither legs nor dexterous palms. This robot moves on a three-wheeled platform and has relatively simple manipulators at the ends of its arms. To make the appearance of the robots aesthetically pleasing, they were dressed in human clothes, and an LED screen with an animated smiling face was installed on their heads.

1X has a bipedal version of the robot in development called Neo. As with Eve, these robots are designed to quickly learn new actions. The idea is this: in the future, a person will put on a VR headset, perform a certain job, the system will remember it and transfer the skill to the robot. It will successfully repeat human actions without the need to painstakingly study the smallest details of the operation.
