Tesla Recalls More Than 9,000 Model X Electric Cars Over Roof Lining
Tesla is recalling 9,136 Model X electric vehicles due to problems with the roof lining, Reuters reports, citing a report from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Tesla must recall Model X crossovers to check the reliability of the fastening of decorative moldings on the glass roof, which can separate from it at speed and pose a certain threat to the safety of others. According to the agency, fragments of the molding on the roof of these electric cars could have been placed on a sealant during assembly without pre-treatment of the surface with a primer, which increases the risk of their spontaneous separation while driving. In the company service, specialists will check the degree of adhesion of the roof moldings and, if necessary, re-install them in compliance with the technology. For car owners, this operation will be completely free, except for the cost of delivering the electric car to the service.
In April, Tesla recalled 3,878 Cybertruck electric pickup trucks due to a sticking gas pedal, according to a NHTSA report. The recall affected all 2024 model year Cybertrucks built between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024.
