Netflix To Make Live-Action Movie Based On “My Hero Academia”
Netflix has acquired the film rights to the My Hero Academia manga from Legendary. The film based on the manga became known back in 2018, but apparently the film studio changed its plans.
According to the plot of the manga, 80% of people have various superpowers, which in the world of My Hero Academia are called quirks. Young Midoriya Izuku did not own any quirk, but acquired it from All Might – the most powerful hero of the Earth. Thanks to this, Midoriya entered Yuei Academy, where, along with other children, he learns to be a professional hero.
The film will be developed by Legendary Entertainment, known for The Dark Knight, Inception, Dune and Enola Holmes. The script for the tape will be written by Joby Harold, who worked on Army of the Dead and Anesthesia.
The film adaptation will be directed and executive produced by Japanese cinematographer Shunsuke Sato, who has worked on Alice in the Borderlands in recent years. The film will also be produced by Mary Parent and Alex Garcia.
