Humanoid Robot Unitree G1 Jumps and Dances in New Video
Chinese company Unitree Robotics, a relatively newcomer to the market of universal humanoid robots, has unveiled a production-ready model G1 priced at $16,000. The robot has shown off many new skills in a new video
According to the company, the engineering team has so far optimized the robot’s capabilities to prepare it for mass production. A new video released by the company shows how G1 can hop on one leg, jump around “Mario-style,” walk very fast, practically jog, climb up and down stairs, overcome obstacles of varying heights, and maintain balance.
The robot also has multiple microphones with active noise cancellation, understands voice commands, and uses a 5W speaker to respond to those requests. The robot has a removable 9,000 mAh battery that lasts about two hours on a single charge.
Technically, G1 has not changed since its announcement. However, updated software has taught it to perform new tricks. The robot is still 1.32 m tall. It can be folded to 690 × 450 × 300 mm for transport in a box. The machine weighs 35 kg.
Prices start at $16,000 ($1.4 million). Unitree describes the latest version of the robot as being ready for mass production, but there is no official confirmation of the start of serial production yet.
