Gaming Giant Bandai Namco Admits To Be Hacked
The company confirmed the attackers’ claims that they had access to its data. According to a Bandai Namco spokesperson, the hackers could have accessed users’ personal data, but this has not yet been confirmed.
In addition, Bandai Namco did not reveal more details. Which “Asian regions” were affected, what kind of customer information might have been leaked, and what that information is, remains to be explained. Based on the company’s own description of its “Toys and Hobbies” division, this may affect customers who have previously bought toys, postcards, food, clothing, models, and more. Although video games don’t seem to be part of the list.
An investigation is currently underway into how the hackers were able to access the data. In the future, Bandai Namco plans to increase protection, including through third-party partners.
