Apple Car Set To Launch In 2026
Apple has been working on its electric vehicle, currently called the Apple Car, for years . Internally, this vehicle project is called the Titan, and it seems to have been in limbo for the past few months.
According to the latest report, the Apple Car is expected to launch in 2026 with a price tag of less than $100,000. The company is also reportedly cutting back on its vision for the car.
Back in 2017, after a few years of work, it seemed that Apple had abandoned the production of a physical car and was ready to focus on software for autonomous vehicles.
However, at the end of 2020, Apple returned to work on creating a real car that runs on its own software.
Some reports have suggested that the launch will take place as early as 2024, while others have said it will likely happen in 2028 or later. It was rumored that Hyundai and Kia were working on a deal to produce the car, but it was later dropped.
In early 2021, Bloomberg said that the launch of the Apple Car would likely take place between 2026 and 2028, and confirmed some reports that Apple was aiming for a self-driving-focused design. Since then, we’ve seen Project Titan reorganize their team again.
As Bloomberg reported today, the latest innovation at Project Titan is a reduction in efforts to move away from fully autonomous driving at launch to prioritize getting the car to market. Earlier reports suggested that Apple may have been aiming for a completely self-contained design without a steering wheel or pedals.
