Meta To Introduce AI Bot For communicating With Youngs
Meta is set to introduce a new strategy to attract younger users by developing AI chatbot personas. These bots will be able to learn user preferences and tailor their experience accordingly.
According to internal company chats, a number of the AI chatbot’s target characters have already been tested on Instagram, including a “cheeky bot” inspired by Futurama’s Bender and an overly curious “Alvin the Alien” that one employees expressed concerns that it was designed to collect personal information. A particularly “problematic” chatbot character reportedly told a Meta employee: “When you’re with a girl, it’s all about the experience. And if you make her sick, it’s definitely an experience.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Meta will launch “dozens” of these chatbots, and is also developing a chatbot creation tool that will allow celebrities to create their own characters to communicate with their fans. Also at the event, other programs may be presented that are aimed at increasing productivity and can provide assistance in writing program codes and solving other problems.
Meta is expected to announce the chatbots at the Meta Connect conference starting on Wednesday.
