Maserati Unveils Its First Electric GranTurismo Folgore
Stellantis has unveiled the new Maserati GranTurismo. The new version appeared three years after the cessation of production of the previous generation. And this time was enough to make a small revolution for his GT – the transition to electricity.
The GranTurismo Folgore electric car will use an architecture with an 800-volt power system that will allow charging from DC stations with a power of up to 270 kW. The power plant will consist of three electric motors based on permanent magnets, the power of each will reach 300 kW (407 hp). The traction battery will have a T-shape, which will allow the seats to be placed in the cabin as low as in the gasoline version of the coupe. The battery capacity will reach 92.5 kWh, but only 83 kWh will actually be available for use.
Since the GranTurismo Folgore coupe is focused on comfortable travel at high speed, the cabin provides space for four passengers, but the presence of a traction battery will force us to reduce the useful volume of the trunk to a modest 269 liters. However, he and the gasoline version of the coupe will be only a little more – 311 liters.
The top speed of Maserati’s first electric car is limited to around 320 km/h. The power reserve has not yet been specified, as well as the possible price of new items. There will be many displays in the cabin, even the branded clock on the front will give way to a small display that can show secondary information and notifications. For a surcharge, you can also get a projection display that displays information on the windshield. The interior of the electric version of the coupe will use more environmentally friendly materials than in the case of gasoline. The virtual assistant Mia will be responsible for the voice control function.
