Xiaomi is preparing to enter a new segment of audio accessories: according to the German resource WinFuture, the company is preparing its first full-size, over-ear wireless headphones under the Redmi brand—Redmi Headphones Neo. Until now, Xiaomi’s product lineup has only offered in-ear and TWS headphones.

The Redmi Headphones Neo model in question appeared in listings on the websites of Chinese retailer Diglex Electronics and the Philippines’ Lazada. There has been no official announcement of the Redmi Headphones Neo yet. However, sellers have detailed the technical specifications and price of the new product. This often means that the product’s market launch is very soon.

The headphones use 40mm titanium-coated drivers. The frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Active noise cancellation in the headphones filters out unwanted noise at a volume of up to 42 dBA. Wireless connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB-C port is provided for low-latency wired connection. In wired mode, the headphones support Hi-Res Audio.

With active noise cancellation turned off, the headphones can last up to 72 hours, which is a very good indicator for a budget device.

The model is expected to launch in two colors—black and white—with a blue version to follow later. The expected price is around €50, and the release date is still unknown.
