OnePlus unveiled its new flagship gaming smartphone, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, in China. This truly extreme device offers record-breaking battery life and a unique gaming accessory that turns the smartphone into a fully-fledged portable console.

The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, manufactured using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage. According to the company, the smartphone is capable of maintaining high frame rates in demanding games, including near-maximum performance in scenarios with intensive on-screen effects.

The smartphone comes with the Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel—a proprietary software optimization layer designed to improve gaming performance—along with the Glacier Cooling system and a 6000mm2 vapor chamber. The company claims this combination helps stabilize performance during extended gaming sessions.

The cameras on the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra follow the “reasonably sufficient” philosophy for a gaming flagship. The main unit consists of two modules: a 50 MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and live streaming, there’s a 16 MP front camera, housed in a neat notch in the center of the display.

An 8600 mAh battery with 120W wired charging ensures long battery life. According to the manufacturer, the battery capacity is enough for 7.4 hours of gameplay at 165 fps or 13.6 hours of navigation. A 20-minute charge recharges the battery to 53%, and a full charge takes 49 minutes.

The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra also supports the optional Strix gaming controller, which features a joystick-less design and mechanical trigger buttons rated for a 1.8ms response time. It also includes an independent esports chip and supports plug-in magnetic cooling modules.

The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra goes on sale in China today. The smartphone is priced (converted from CNY):

  • 12GB + 256GB — ≈ $556
  • 16GB + 256GB — ≈ $600
  • 12GB + 512GB — ≈ $644
  • 16GB + 512GB — ≈ $688
  • 16GB + 1TB — ≈ $791
  • The “Gunfire” controller costs $65.
