Nintendo and DeNA Form a Subsidiary of Nintendo Systems

Nintendo and DeNa have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture between Nintendo Systems to develop mobile games and service applications for the Nintendo ecosystem.

The Japanese giant will become the largest shareholder, which will own 80% of the capital of Nintendo Systems, and will take full control of the new company.

During the collaboration, the Nintendo Account infrastructure was developed and it is likely that the company will continue to improve and use it for future devices. Nintendo and DeNA have also released several successful mobile games such as Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Super Mario Run, and Mario Kart Tour, the former of which has $1 billion in revenue.

«Based on seven years of cooperation in the joint development of numerous services based on the Nintendo Account, Nintendo and DeNA will further develop their partnership. In an effort to enhance the digitalization of Nintendo’s business, the joint venture will conduct research and development and provide value-added services to further strengthen Nintendo’s relationship with consumers.»
