ASRock Releases LGA 1700

The ongoing memory chip shortage is forcing many to be creative in their memory purchases at reasonable prices. Against this backdrop, ASRock has introduced new motherboard memory that supports both DDR4 and DDR5 RAM, allowing users to choose the optimal option.

The new motherboard differs from the first model in several ways. It also uses the Micro-ATX format, but its dimensions are even smaller. It has two fewer RAM slots. The H610M Combo had two DDR4 and four DDR5 slots, while this one has only one and two, respectively.

Instead of three full-size PCIe slots, this one has only one, and the first version also had a regular PCI slot, which is extremely rare these days. However, the new model has the also-rare PCIe 3.0 x1 slot instead.

But the new model also has improvements. For example, it has six USB ports on the rear panel instead of three. Furthermore, the four-phase power supply has been replaced with an eight-phase one. The SSD slot remains the same, and it’s still PCIe 3.0.

These specifications, combined with the H610M Combo II’s appearance, make it clear that this is a basic motherboard aimed at the budget segment. The retail price and availability of the new product have not yet been announced.
