Valve Mistakenly Included The Earliest Left 4 Dead Prototype In The Counter-Strike 1.6 Update

Valve accidentally published the earliest Left 4 Dead prototype in the new CS 1.6 update.

As noted by data miner Gabe Follower, the patch for Counter-Strike 1.6 released on November 22 for an unknown reason includes files for Terror-Strike, the earliest version of the cult cooperative shooter from Turtle Rock Studios.

According to blogger Tyler McVicker, we are talking about functioning libraries and DLL files from the original Terror-Strike build (around 2003), stored on Valve’s servers.

Players need to carry the bomb to the desired location, and then fight hordes of zombies. In its current form, the prototype is very playable, but connoisseurs of all sorts of strange things will certainly be interested in it.

Let us remind you that Terror Strike also exists under the guise of a mod for Counter-Strike: Source. The other day, a former Valve screenwriter spoke about the problems the team faced when developing Left 4 Dead and its sequel.
