Twitter Replaced The Logo With An “X”

On Monday, July 24, the social network Twitter introduced its updated logo – a white letter X with a black outline, completely removing the image of the blue bird. The new logo is already visible in the Twitter header and when the page is refreshed.

The avatar of the official Twitter account has also been changed from a blue bird to a white X on a black background.  Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, also confirmed the changes by posting a photo of the company’s headquarters with a projection of the new logo on his page.

Musk calls the new logo “temporary” and it looks like it could change soon, but only graphically. Elon also said that he would soon completely “cover up” the very name of Twitter as a brand, according to TechCrunch.

Twitter’s new CEO Linda Iaccarino said the future of Twitter will change dramatically with features “focused on audio, video, messaging, payments/banking.” In her opinion, this will help the platform turn into a “global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities.”

Elon Musk has long been passionate about renaming everything “X”. For example, he founded X.com as a company back in 1997. The name SpaceX also has this letter, which Musk emphasized. More recently, he founded an artificial intelligence company called X.ai. In April, the Musk-owned social network changed its legal name from Twtter Inc. at X Corp.
