Team Ninja Announces Rise Of The Ronin, A Samurai Action RPG Set In 19th-Century Japan 

Team Ninja Studio (Ninja Gaiden, Nioh) and publisher Koei Tecmo presented the game Rise of the Ronin. An announcement trailer was posted on YouTube as part of the State of Play presentation.

Players will become ronin during the end of the Edo era. A warrior forges alliances and completes missions, destroying enemies with katana and firearms.

The action takes place in Japan at the end of the 19th century, during the battle between the Tokugawa shogunate and the anti-shogunate.  Diseases are rampant in the country and despotic rulers are atrocious. The player in the role of a ronin (a free samurai left without a superior feudal lord) will complete missions using katanas, firearms and a grappling hook.

Rise of the Ronin is scheduled for release in 2024. The game will be a console exclusive to the PlayStation 5.
