Samsung Launches $1,600 ViewFinity S9 5K Monitor
Samsung has released the ViewFinity S9 5K monitor, which was first shown at CES 2023 in January this year. The novelty is positioned as a more affordable analogue of Apple’s Studio Dispaly.
ViewFinity S9 received a 27-inch IPS display with a resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The monitor is capable of displaying 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and provides brightness up to 600 cd/m2. Also reported is DisplayHDR 600 certification and factory color calibration with Delta E accuracy less than 2. Manual color calibration is possible using the SmartThings app.
It is important that the novelty has features that are not available from a competitor manufactured by Apple – it is possible to tilt, rotate and adjust the height of the display. In addition, eye protection is maintained by reducing flicker and blue light.
The monitor received an integrated 4K SlimFit webcam with Auto Framing – thanks to it, the user always remains in focus during video calls. Also, the novelty is equipped with built-in speakers. And the Adaptive Sound+ feature optimizes noise cancellation and enhances overall sound quality.
ViewFinity S9 is equipped with USB-C, Thunderbolt 4 and miniDP ports. The company notes that the Thunderbolt 4 port is limited to 90W and 40Gbps transfer rates.
