Google Delete Accounts Inactive For Two Years
The company has updated its inactive account policy. The solution is aimed at protecting users from spam, phishing and other security threats and will not begin to operate until December 2023, Google explained. Accounts that have been inactive for two years will be deleted.
Before an account is terminated, Google will send several notifications to the email address of the account itself and to the address specified as a recovery tool. Content linked to an inactive account (data in Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Photos, YouTube and other company services) will also be deleted. To avoid deleting your account, Google recommends periodically signing in to your account and doing simple things like watching a YouTube video or doing a Google search. It is also worth checking the validity of the backup email address. If necessary, you can export the accumulated data through the Google Archiver service.
The new activity policy will not affect business or school accounts. And the first to start deleting accounts that were created and never used again.
