Elon Musk’s SpaceX Launched The Starship For The First Time, But The Flight Was Not Long
The company SpaceX, which belongs to the billionaire Elon Musk, carried out the first launch of the super-heavy Starship rocket, which should bring people to Mars in the future.
A Super Heavy launch vehicle from a launch pad in Texas lifted the ship to a height of 39 km, but then the vehicles began to spin in the sky and descend. The explosion occurred at an altitude of 29 km.
Before the launch, Musk noted that it may take several attempts to successfully launch the rocket.
“Today’s test will help us improve Starship’s reliability as SpaceX strives to make life multi-planetary,” the company tweeted.
SpaceX said that work on Starship will continue, problems that arose during the separation of the first stage will be studied.
Starship is a large new rocket designed to take humans, including NASA astronauts, into deep space. It should also serve as a relatively inexpensive platform for launching satellites and other payloads into orbit.
The entire Starship system is 120 meters tall, making it more powerful than any previous crewed spacecraft. The rocket is designed to be reusable, which SpaceX predicts will keep costs down.
