Apple Recognizes iPhone X And The first AirPods As “Vintage Gadgets”
Headphones from 2016 and a smartphone from 2017 have joined the official list of “vintage” Apple products.
Recalling that the iPhone X was the first Apple smartphone with Face ID. This is also the company’s first phone without a Home button, but with a Super Retina display, which they were able to stretch across the entire front surface of the gadget.
According to Apple’s rules, a product is classified as “vintage” if the company stopped selling it more than five but less than seven years ago. Devices taken off the market more than seven years ago are classified as “obsolete.”
The iPhone X, first-generation AirPods and the original HomePod smart speaker are now classified as “vintage products,” according to the updated list. Official Apple service centers will continue to repair these devices, but only if parts are available. It is worth noting that when a device falls into the “obsolete” category, it completely loses the right to official servicing.
