Apple introduced Mudra Band

Made by mobile electronics company Wearable Devices, the Mudra Band was first introduced in beta form two years ago. After being tested by thousands of early adopters, it is now available in medium and large sizes through the company’s website for $349.

The Mudra Band electronic bracelet, developed by the Israeli company Wearable Devices, is also a control panel, but not even remotely reminiscent of its distant “ancestor”. By putting the Mudra Band on their hand, users will be able to control the entire line of Apple electronic devices – iPhone, iPad, AppleTV and others, without pressing buttons, but only with the help of certain gestures.

Mudra Band is a replacement for the standard bracelet on the existing Apple Watch. Its electronics include a lithium polymer battery, a Bluetooth LE module, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a variety of surface nerve conduction (SNC) sensors.

Generating signals to control gadgets is a process of wireless interaction between electronics, the brain and human fingers. Thanks to various combinations of gestures, the user can scroll, imitate a click or tap, as well as zoom and drag.

The silicone-bodied device replaces the standard wrist strap on an existing Apple Watch.  It is equipped with electronics such as a lithium polymer battery, a Bluetooth LE module, a flexible printed circuit board, an IMU (inertial measurement unit) and a set of surface nerve conduction (SNC) sensors.
