Apple Announced “Special Event” For May 7: Expect New iPad Pro with OLED And iPad Air
Apple has begun sending media invitations to a “special event” featuring the Apple Pencil, hinting at the unveiling of new iPads – specifically the OLED iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Air.
According to rumors, the expected iPad Pro tablets will offer the most significant innovations since 2021, when Apple introduced tablet models based on M1 chips. The new iPad Pros are expected to feature M3 processors, OLED displays with thinner bezels, other design changes, and possibly support for MagSafe wireless charging. The company may also introduce a new Apple Pencil and an updated Magic Keyboard with an aluminum casing and a larger trackpad.
The event is also expected to announce updated iPad Air models, including a new 12.9-inch model. M2 chips are predicted for the new iPad Air.
According to a recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, stock of the current iPad Air at Apple retail stores is dwindling—a good indicator that a refreshed model is on the way.
