AMD has announced the launch of its Ryzen AI Halo mini-PC, a compact workstation for working with artificial intelligence.
The mini PC is available in two variants: one with Windows 11 Pro and the other with Linux. As noted by VideoCardz, both variants are available at US retailer Micro Center for $3,999.99. The hardware of both systems appears to be identical. Both mini PCs feature 2 TB solid-state drives, 10 Gigabit LAN controllers, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and a total power consumption (TDP) rating of 120 W.
AMD Strix Halo processors were introduced over a year ago. The flagship Ryzen AI Max+ 395 model is already available in some products from various manufacturers. Now, AMD itself has decided to release its own platform based on this processor. The company also recently unveiled the new Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 processors, which now offer up to 192 GB of unified memory.
The computer’s recommended retail price is $3,999. However, despite AMD’s official press release announcing the launch, the device is still unavailable in US stores.
