AI To Be The Basis Of The New Nothing Smartphone

Nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei discussed the company’s plans to bring artificial intelligence features to its devices and hinted at the arrival of a Nothing Phone (3).

In a post on social media X, Pei said people love their smartphones, but “the user experience hasn’t changed in a very long time.” He adds that things have gotten faster, prettier and simpler, but “the fundamental experience hasn’t changed.” According to the head of Nothing, this may soon change. Also briefly mentioned is the Phone 3, which Pei says will be the company’s first smartphone with true artificial intelligence.

The company’s short video shows several demos of the user interface, one of which essentially replicates the features presented during OpenAI’s GPT-4o neural network demo. We are talking about a personalized voice assistant built into the operating system, interaction with which will allow you to solve various problems.

For the past two months, the Nothing team has been working on designing and prototyping AI interactions. The company plans to roll out these innovations gradually, starting with the Nothing Phone (3) next year.
