Humanoid Robot XBot-L Conquered The Great Wall Of China
Robot Era has released footage showing the XBot-L robot climbing the Great Wall of China. This is the first humanoid to do this
While XBot-L isn’t as fast as China’s Unitree’s H1 robot or as flexible as Boston Dynamics’ new Atlas, it’s still worth a look. The humanoid robot confidently moves on uneven surfaces, climbs steps, etc. The developers note that their creation copes well with movement in dimly lit towers, which are regularly found along the entire Great Wall of China.
The developers attribute the success of XBot-L to proprietary Perceptive RL technology, which is used in the robot’s learning process. This algorithm helped enhance XBot-L’s ability to perceive its surroundings and make decisions in unfamiliar terrain. Thanks to this, the robot analyzes the quality of the road it is walking on and corrects its gait in a timely manner.
