A new smartphone called the Enough Phone is aiming to bring compact devices back into the spotlight. Designed for users who prefer smaller phones without sacrificing essential modern features, the device combines a 5.3-inch display, a removable battery and a mid-range MediaTek processor.

The smartphone has been introduced through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, offering an alternative to today’s increasingly large Android and iOS devices.

A compact design with a replaceable battery

One of the Enough Phone’s most distinctive features is its user-replaceable 3,500mAh battery. Unlike most modern smartphones, which use permanently sealed batteries, the new device features a removable back panel secured with screws, allowing users to replace the battery themselves.

The phone measures approximately 133 x 64 x 12mm, making it considerably smaller than most current smartphones. Its 5.3-inch LCD display offers a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels.

Under the hood, the Enough Phone is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users will also have the option to expand storage through a microSD card.

Android 17 and a minimalist operating system

Another interesting aspect of the device is its software flexibility. Buyers will be able to choose between standard Android 17 and OdysseyOS, a minimalist operating system developed by SLEKE.

OdysseyOS is designed for people who want fewer digital distractions while retaining access to essential smartphone functions and selected applications.

The manufacturer is also targeting five years of software support, with updates planned through 2032.

In terms of photography, the device features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Other specifications include 5G connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, eSIM support and a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.

Pricing and expected availability

The Enough Phone is currently being promoted through Kickstarter, with early campaign prices starting at $399. The planned retail price is approximately $599.

According to the development roadmap, mass production is expected to begin in April 2027, with initial shipments targeted for May 2027. However, these dates remain subject to change as development and manufacturing progress.

The project enters a market where compact smartphones have become increasingly rare. By combining a smaller form factor with a replaceable battery and long-term software support, Enough Phone is attempting to appeal to consumers who value practicality, repairability and everyday usability over increasingly large displays.

Whether the device can establish itself as a serious alternative to mainstream smartphones will ultimately depend on its final specifications, production timeline and real-world performance.
