Sony Unveils Xperia 10 VIII

Sony has officially unveiled its new mid-range smartphone, the Xperia 10 VIII, which doesn’t boast any significant upgrades over the previous-generation model. In fact, the vendor is asking €599 for last year’s smartphone with a refreshed design.
The Xperia 10 VIII retains its 6.1-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The main change is a 50% increase in brightness, although Sony isn’t disclosing its specific peak brightness.
The front-facing stereo speakers are still located at the top and bottom of the display, but according to the manufacturer, they are now 30% more powerful.
The hardware platform remains unchanged. The Xperia 10 VIII once again features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Sony retained the microSD card slot, and the classic 3.5mm headphone jack remains.
The cameras are also almost entirely the same as their predecessor. The main camera unit consists of a 50-megapixel main module and a 13-megapixel sensor in the ultra-wide-angle camera. There’s no telephoto lens. However, it does have IP68 protection.
A 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging support of up to 30 W ensures battery life. The case also features a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature increasingly rare in modern smartphones.
