Wide, foldable flagships are nothing new, but Huawei has come up with something truly new: the Pura X View, a smartphone with a widescreen display in a classic (non-foldable) design. The company calls the new device the world’s first candybar smartphone with a widescreen display.

The Huawei Pura X View features a widescreen display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio and slim bezels measuring just 1.05 mm. The screen-to-body ratio is 96.1%. The display resolution is 2232 x 1320 pixels, with a peak brightness of 6500 cd/m². The screen size is still unknown—Huawei hasn’t revealed all the specifications of the new device. Sources suggest the diagonal is 6.39 inches.

The company also reported that despite its capacious battery, the Pura X View’s body is only 6.68 mm thick and weighs 201 g.

The smartphone features a triple rear camera system housed in a horizontal, pill-shaped module. It has up to 12 GB of RAM and a memory card slot for expansion up to 1 TB.
