DJI officially unveiled the new DJI Romo 2 series of robotic vacuum cleaners—the second generation of the brand’s home line. These new products are significantly smarter, delivering increased power and maximum automation.
The series includes two models—the Romo P2 and Romo A2. Each is available in two versions: with a standard water tank and a more advanced station that automatically fills and drains water. Sales are scheduled to begin on June 11 at 8:00 PM, but pre-orders are already open.
The Romo 2 series features DJI’s upgraded AI-powered cleaning system, which automatically recognizes different floor types and cleaning scenarios. The robot can increase suction power when cleaning carpets, detect spills for targeted mopping, and intelligently navigate cluttered spaces without having to rearrange furniture.
DJI has equipped the Romo 2 series with a new collision avoidance system inspired by drone technology. This system combines laser radar sensors, wide-angle cameras, and ToF sensors to detect even small obstacles, such as thin cables or pet bedding. The system can also detect transparent objects, such as mirrors and glass surfaces. A built-in dirt-detection light helps the robot locate dust and obstacles in dark areas.

The cleaning system includes an adaptive robotic arm with radar that can rotate 123 degrees for more effective cleaning of edges and corners. DJI claims the new design allows for 4.5 cm more cleaning coverage near walls compared to previous models. The Romo 2 series of robotic vacuums also features a 36,000 Pa suction system (versus 25,000 Pa in its predecessors) with an intelligent boost mode for carpets and deep dust removal. The system can climb obstacles up to 8.5 cm high and includes anti-tangle brushes.
The robot is controlled via the DJI Home app. It features a dirt map, cleaning zone settings, voice control, remote access, and video chat. Support for 55W fast charging is also announced. Prices range from 5,500 yuan ($810) for the standard Romo A2 to 6,500 yuan ($955) for the Romo P2 with its automatic charging station.
