Tecno has unveiled the budget-friendly Spark 50 5G smartphone in India. It is powered by a 6-nanometer octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device comes with 4GB and 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The new model is an updated version of the previous Spark 40 5G model, featuring minor exterior changes, a new battery, and connectivity improvements. The company promises faster download speeds thanks to the use of four 5G antennas (4 x 4 MIMO), as well as UPS 3.0 technology to boost the signal in areas with poor coverage. Additionally, it features the company’s FreeLink feature, which allows for Bluetooth calls over a range of up to 1.5 km. However, for now, calls can only be made to other Tecno smartphones with FreeLink.

The smartphone’s battery capacity has increased to 6,500 mAh, and the charging power has been increased to 45 watts. An IR port has been added to the list of additional features. Otherwise, the device is largely unchanged from its predecessor: a Mediatek Dimensity 6400 processor (approximately 550,000 points in AnTuTu 11), a 6.78-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 50 MP rear camera, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, and IP64 protection.
