Vivo S50 And S50 Pro Mini Smartphones Announced: iPhone-Style Design

Vivo has unveiled the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro mini, mid-range smartphones, in China. Both models feature an updated design compared to their predecessors, as well as more powerful chipsets.

The S50 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz resolution and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. It comes with 12GB/16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on top. It also has a large 6,500mAh battery, and supports 90W fast wired charging.

The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen, and the device is IP69 water-resistant. Finally, the main camera includes 50 MP, 8 MP (wide-angle), and 50 MP (3x zoom, telephoto) modules. The selfie module is 50 MP.

The S50 Pro mini features a 6.31-inch AMOLED display with up to 5000 nits and up to 120 Hz. The processor (or more accurately, the system-on-chip) is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The RAM is 12/16 GB, and the storage options are 256/512 GB. The battery is similarly 6,500 mAh with 90-watt charging. 40-watt wireless charging is also available. IP68 and IP69 protection with an in-display fingerprint reader are also in place.

Camera system: 50 MP + 8 MP (wide-angle) + 50 MP (telephoto, 3x). Front camera: 50 MP, with autofocus.

The Vivo S50 is available in white, blue, purple, and black. The base model with 12GB of storage and 256GB of memory is priced at CNY 2,999 ($425), while the 16GB of storage and 512GB of memory is priced at CNY 3,599 ($510).

The Vivo S50 Pro mini will be available in white, purple, and black. The 12GB of storage and 256GB of memory is priced at CNY 3,699 ($524), while the 16GB of storage and 512GB of memory is priced at CNY 4,299 ($609).
