Morgan Stanley forecasts that the first foldable iPhone will generate approximately $14 billion in revenue for Apple in the fourth quarter of 2026. The bank’s analysts called the device’s launch, scheduled for next week, the most significant event for the company since the iPhone X.

Morgan Stanley expects strong demand for the foldable iPhone at launch, despite limited supply. According to the bank’s analysts, Apple will ship 7-8 million units by the end of this year and up to 20 million in the first year of sales. The launch of the foldable iPhone is seen as a test of the company’s ability to maintain high prices, as this year is expected to see the most significant price increase for iPhones in several years.

Woodring noted that the rising cost of NAND and DRAM chips is likely one of the reasons for the Pro models’ price increase of over $200 compared to last year’s devices. The key upgrade of the iPhone 18 Pro will likely be the transition to a processor manufactured by TSMC using a 2nm process. This should improve performance, including for AI functions performed directly on the device.

Apple’s presentation, where a foldable iPhone may be shown, will take place on September 9.
