Next week, several new iPhone models will be unveiled, including Apple’s first foldable smartphone, but Bloomberg can’t limit itself to that kind of coverage, and so it traditionally publishes information about the company’s plans to release new smartphone models until the end of 2028.
If we systematize this data, the bulk of which is already known to one degree or another, we can divide Apple’s plans into three years, including the fall of this year. First of all, three mobile devices will be released in the middle of next week:
- iPhone Ultra foldable smartphone
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones
- Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 smartwatches
- AirPods 5 headphones
The company is expected to unveil the following new products in late 2026 or early 2027:
- Updated Apple TV set-top box
- Updated HomePod mini speaker
- iPad mini tablet with OLED display
- iMac computer with M6 chip
- 14-inch MacBook Pro laptop with M6 chip
- Macbook laptop with OLED touchscreen
- Smart home hub with display
Apple plans to introduce the following devices in 2027:
- MacBook Air laptop with M6 chip
- MacBook Neo laptop with A19 Pro chip
- Updated basic iPad
- Updated iPad Air with OLED display
- Updated iPad Pro
- New styluses
- Basic iPhone 18 and Budget iPhone 18e
- iPhone Air 2 with dual cameras
- 14-inch MacBook Pro with M7 chip
- AirPods with cameras
- Home security system
- Smart glasses
- Anniversary iPhone with curved glass at the corners and edges
- Foldable iPhone Ultra 2 smartphone
- Smartwatch in a new format
- MacBook with touchscreens and M7 Pro and M7 Max chips
Finally, a larger foldable Apple smartphone is slated for release in 2028, featuring a proportionally larger display not only on the outside of the case but also on the inside, which is flexible. Other iPhones with a classic design will likely be updated in 2028, but it’s too early to discuss their specifications.
