Fairphone 6 Unveiled: Smartphone With Increased Repairability
Fairphone has introduced a new smartphone, the Fairphone 6, with increased repairability. The new model replaces its predecessor, released two years ago. Fairphone 6 has become smaller and 9% lighter than the previous model, but is equipped with a more capacious 4415 mAh battery, providing up to 53 hours of battery life. The battery, like many other components of the smartphone, is easy to replace – just unscrew seven screws.
It comes with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via SDXC card. The screen is a bit smaller than the Fairphone 5 (6.31 inches vs. 6.46 inches), but it’s now an LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The rear camera is represented by a 50-megapixel main and 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle modules, the front one has a resolution of 32 MP. This is a step back compared to the Fairphone 5, where all three cameras were 50 MP.
The back cover of the device has become more modular: its lower part can be removed by unscrewing two screws, and additional accessories can be installed in its place. So far, a cardholder and a ring for a comfortable grip are presented, but other modules are expected.

In addition to improved performance and new modular accessories, the Fairphone 6 offers a new feature called Fairphone Moments. Activated via the physical side button, it allows you to switch between two modes – “full-featured” and “minimalist”.
