Samsung Presented Its Cheapest Smart Watches
Samsung did not wait for the summer presentation and presented the Galaxy Watch FE smart watch today. This is a new budget model from the South Korean brand, which will compete with the Apple Watch SE series.
With a more modest price tag, the device had to give up some aspects. Thus, the Galaxy Watch FE is available only in a 40-mm case with a 1.2-inch OLED display and is powered by the Exynos W920 chip instead of the more powerful W930, with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Most sensors remain in place with the exception of the temperature sensor, which debuted last year; The battery capacity has decreased to 247 mAh.
At the same time, the budget model retains sapphire crystal, IP68 protection and water resistance to 5 ATM. The branded strap mechanism, NFC payments and built-in GPS are in place. For communication with the outside world, LTE (older version), Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi are used.
Galaxy Watch FE will be the most affordable watch in the new Galaxy Watch line. The remaining models will be presented in July at the Unpacked presentation. According to rumors, they will be the first Samsung watch with the latest 3nm chip, which should improve performance and increase battery life.
