Netflix Takes On Gears Of War Film And Series For Adults 

The Coalition and Netflix have partnered to produce an animated series and film based in the Gears of War universe.  It is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Moreover, Netflix immediately announced plans to release a series after the film – it will be an animation for adults.

Gears of War was released 16 years ago today and to mark the occasion, Netflix has partnered with The Coalition to adapt the @GearsofWar video game saga into a live action feature film, followed by an adult animated series — with the potential for more stories to follow! pic.twitter.com/3zInFSnUu4

At the moment, both adaptations have no directors or producers yet, but it is already known that The Coalition, which oversees the franchise, will help Netflix with their participation.

Gears of War has been trying to be brought to screens since 2007. The first attempt with New Line Cinema got stuck in production hell, in 2016 Microsoft signed an agreement with Universal, but things didn’t move beyond writing the script, and now Netflix has taken up the job.
