Honor Introduced Its Debut Folding Smartphone Magic V Flip
The Chinese company Honor introduced its first clamshell smartphone – Honor Magic V Flip. It is designed to compete with models such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Oppo Find N3 Flip and Vivo X Flip. According to Honor, the new product has the largest external screen in its class – a 4-inch LTPO with a frame rate of 120 Hz.
The Honor Magic V Flip uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor coupled with 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of flash storage. Also reported is Honor’s own C1+ RF chip. A cooling system with an evaporation chamber is used to remove heat from the components.
Honor Magic V Flip is equipped with two screens. The 6.8-inch internal flexible screen supports 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The brightness indicator is up to 3000 cd/m2. The diagonal of the external LTPO screen on the case cover is 4.0 inches, the refresh rate is 120 Hz, and the peak brightness is 2500 cd/m2. The external screen can be used to launch frequently used apps such as maps, social media and food delivery services, as well as display the time and incoming notifications or play videos.
Other characteristics include a dual camera (50 and 12 megapixels), a 50 megapixel front camera, SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of flash memory, a 4800 mAh battery with 66 W charging support , MagicOS 8 shell based on the Android 14 operating system.
The Honor Magic V Flip comes in multiple configurations, starting at $689 for the base 8/256GB variant and going up to $827 for the 12GB/1TB.
