Cadillac Unveils $300,000 CELESTIQ luxury Electric Car
Cadillac, a brand of General Motors, has unveiled its CELESTIQ show car, a new battery-electric vehicle that represents “the company’s vision of innovation and goals that anticipate the brand’s handcrafted all-electric flagship sedan in the future.”
Cadillac positions the CELESTIQ as an “ultra-luxury” flagship model. The company has not yet disclosed the main technical characteristics, but spoke about other advantages of the car: these are, in particular, handmade materials, all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, as well as a new generation of Ultra Cruise driver assistance system. The electric car will be built on the Ultium platform from General Motors.
The driver and all passengers will feel as comfortable as possible in the car. For example, the roof is equipped with “four-quadrant particulate smart glass,” which means that everyone can individually set their own level of roof transparency.
On board there is a set of five high-resolution touch displays, and first of all, a monolithic 55 “dashboard screen, one of the advantages of which will be “electronic digital blinds”. This solution will allow the passenger in the front seat to watch the video without distracting the driver. The screens are also mounted to the rear of the front headrests and the touchscreen console between the seats in both rows.
