Apple Stores To Apdate iOS On iPhone Without Opening The Package
Starting from April 2024, Apple Store specialists will be able to update turned off iPhones using wireless technologies and without removing smartphones from the packaging.
Journalist Mark Gurman explained that Apple Stores will soon receive sets of special devices that look like a tablet in a small box. This is a new patented system, codenamed Presto, which is powered by MagSafe and other wireless technologies
The shoebox-sized device, the source explains, allows a store employee to stack several factory-packaged iPhones to force a software update without damaging the integrity of the packaging.
Smartphones partially charged by the manufacturer will be turned on using a remote signal, software updates will be sent to them via wireless networks, and upon completion of the procedure, the smartphones will also be turned off and stored. A buyer who receives them soon after the next update will no longer be able to waste his time on such procedures. Perhaps this innovation, under the symbol Presto, will increase the loyalty of Apple product buyers, since they will be able to receive new versions of the software even before opening the iPhone box.
According to Gurman, Apple further plans to update not only software for the iPhone, but also its other products in stores in this way.
