Huawei Unveils AirPods Pro Competitor With Powerful Noise Cancellation For $200

On November 26, 2024, Huawei introduced a new model of wireless headphones FreeBuds Pro 4, which became the first in the line with the HarmonyOS NEXT operating system.

The new product uses 11-mm four-magnet dynamic drivers with microplanar tweeters, as well as four microphones, and a bone conduction microphone. The microphones are responsible for the active noise cancellation system, which can block external sounds up to 100 dBA. The new product also supports spatial sound, and the delay in games is about 90 ms.

FreeBuds Pro 4 use Bluetooth 5.2 protocol for connection. The headphones claim to support SBC, AAC, LDAC and L2HC 4.0 codecs. The latter is only available when connected to Huawei smartphones and tablets running HarmonyOS 4.0 and newer. The manufacturer claims IP54 water protection for FreeBuds Pro 4. Each earphone weighs 5.8 grams, and the charging case weighs 47 grams.

The battery life is up to 6.5 hours without ANC, and up to 33 hours with the case.

The FreeBuds Pro 4 are priced at CNY 1,499 (around $206) in China and will go on sale on December 4. The earbuds are available in Obsidian Black, Snow White, and Spruce Green.
