Samsung Introduces The Galaxy Z Flip6 Folding Phone
Samsung officially launched its new flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The foldable flip smartphone doesn’t feature any major changes except for some hardware upgrades. Thus, the South Korean brand has only updated last year’s model, adding new internal components, as well as built-in artificial intelligence functions.
Galaxy Z Fold6 is built on the single-chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform. For the first time for Samsung Flip smartphones, a cooling system with an evaporation chamber is used here. The new product has approximately 12 GB of RAM, which can be considered a significant upgrade compared to 8 GB in last year’s model. For data storage there is a flash drive of 256 or 512 GB. The Galaxy Z Flip6 (and Z Fold6) will receive 7 years of OS updates and security patches.
When it comes to photography, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes with improved cameras compared to its predecessor. The smartphone now features a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The resolution of the selfie camera remains unchanged and is 10 MP.
The main display is now an LTPO AMOLED panel with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The diagonal remains the same, 6.7 inches, as does the FHD+ resolution. The external Flex Display is the same size and resolution as before: 3.4 inches and 720 x 748 pixels, and still runs at 60Hz. It can provide brightness up to 1600 cd/m2.
The device is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery with support for 25 W charging. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 also runs Android 14 based on OneUI 6.1.
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 start today and sales will begin on July 24. The base model with 256 GB of memory is priced at $1,100.
