The decision to carry out a minor rebranding was made following a meeting of CD PROJEKT shareholders. The majority of the group’s shareholders voted in favor of the name change.

As reported by the Polish news agency PAP Biznes, the management of CD Projekt (the parent company of CD Projekt Red) decided to rebrand following its annual shareholders’ meeting.

CD Projekt will soon change its name to… CD Projekt Red. Until recently, this was the name of the development studio responsible for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the upcoming The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.

CD Projekt decided that a similar name to its development division would help streamline communications, identify the company with its products in the global market, and facilitate the hiring process.

Following the sale of the GOG digital store in December 2025, the production and publication of high-quality role-playing games and other content based on its franchises became CD Projekt’s core business.

The official renaming will take place after amendments to the articles of association and registration in the Polish state register of companies.
