Qualcomm Introduces New Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Chipsets
Qualcomm has announced the next generation of its Snapdragon chipsets for affordable smartphones. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is an update to Qualcomm’s low-end portfolio. Qualcomm says the new chipset delivers real processor speed, 5G connectivity, and new potential for improved photo quality in built-in cameras.
The most important thing is, of course, an increase in performance and improved energy efficiency. The chipset is built on a modern 4 nm process technology and will save battery power and heat up less. The maximum clock speed is 2.2 GHz, and for fast system and application performance, there is support for UFS 3.1 memory. Overall performance increased by 10%. The chipset supports image and video processing on displays with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The built-in Snapdragon X61 modem supports 5G networks, and also includes a dual-band WiFi module that supports WiFi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.1.
Worked in the chipset and on support for fast charging. Modern charging protocols such as Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ provide 50% capacity in just 15 minutes (time may vary depending on battery capacity). And of course, we paid attention to Qualcomm Spectra ™ ISP, which is responsible for processing images from the camera. Faster autofocus, adequate noise reduction and support for Low Light technology, which improves images using artificial intelligence in the dark. Modern sensors up to 108 MP are supported. Also important, it is worth noting the support for Qualcomm Aqstic sound technology and the Qualcomm (r) aptX codec.
