ChatGPT Global Outage: AI Problems Reported Around the World
ChatGPT users worldwide experienced a massive neural network outage. According to monitoring service DownDetector, thousands of complaints about various issues were received in a short period of time.
The number of complaints on the US section of the portal has skyrocketed to over 12,000—the vast majority of users have encountered issues with ChatGPT, but there are also complaints about the OpenAI API, which allows third-party apps to access the developer’s AI models. Users in other countries in Europe and Asia are also experiencing issues. By the time this article was published, the number of complaints had begun to decline.
On OpenAI’s status page, the developers acknowledge the problem and assure that they are already working to fix it, but the cause of the failure has not yet been specified.
Earlier, a scandal erupted in the US after Madhu Gottumukkala, acting director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), uploaded confidential materials to a publicly accessible version of the ChatGPT neural network. This action triggered an internal cybersecurity alert.
