Google is preparing to launch Gemini 3.0, a new version of its large language model that promises significant improvements over the current-generation algorithm. The imminent launch of the new AI model has been hinted at repeatedly by company employees, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who stated that the algorithm would be launched before the end of the year.

Since early October, Gemini 3.0 Pro checkpoints have been undergoing testing in Google AI Studio and LMArena. Users have noted significant improvements in the model’s programming capabilities, complex mathematical calculations, and multimodal capabilities. Almost a month and a half has passed since testing began, so a release next week seems quite likely.

However, Google has yet to catch up with OpenAI in user numbers. According to a source, the Gemini app has reached 650 million monthly users, while ChatGPT has around 800 million monthly users. Gemini’s growing popularity among younger users will help, but the gap still appears significant.
